Kicking and Screaming
So...
I finally dragged my ass away from the computer long enough to go to the gym tonight.
get in my car and as I go to make the right turn off of my street, there is an unfamiliar double speed *tick, tick, tick* from my turn indicator. So from the time I got home from VOTING (happy election day Canada) and leaving to go to the gym, I burned out a right turn signal... How did that happen? I am really starting to detest this car.
Ok... So off to the gym.. I will deal with this tomorrow.
Get there... Do my warm-up, like a good, work-out freak... And head to the strength training equipment.
NO problem... Get through that easily enough.... If you want to call strength training easy... But whatever...
Then I go to the elliptical... Away from the other people...Because I am not feeling very social and it is getting late.. .There aren't that many people around to begin with.
Then... 2 girls come to the machines beside me. One has perfume on and is swingin her hair around...
this really wouldn't be a big deal... Except I have an allergy to perfume, and the inability to take allergy pills right now. So I am on the elliptical, losing my ability to breathe, and it's not because I am "booking it"... It's because there is a girl who chose not to pay attention to the 'scent-sensitive' rule at the gym.
I said something to one of the gym staff members who walked by - he asked them to move, and made a joke to put the onus on him, I still had to cool down and leave the gym.
It is a little hard to have a good cardio work-out when your throat is closing up and your lungs hurt...
I was very tempted to turn into the McDonald's drive-thru as my night was ruined anyway... But that would have involved a right turn... And that would have made me sadder...more sad... bitter... whichever is more grammatically correct... cause I don't know which is the right way to describe the emotion involved...
But I didn't turn...
I just went straight on home.
I think I should shower and go to bed.
